The certification, awarded by Alcumus ISOQAR, recognises the company's systematic approach to governing AI-powered customer interactions through HubSpot's Customer Agent functionality.

ISO 42001 is the international standard for AI management systems, providing a framework for organisations to develop, provide, or use AI responsibly. The company has developed GuardHub, an AI governance framework built on ISO 42001 principles specifically for HubSpot Agents. It provides systematic governance covering the full lifecycle: from defining use cases (Sales/Marketing & Service) and configuring agents through to risk management and deployment.
"When HubSpot's own support started referencing ISO 42001 alignment, I knew we were on the right track," Shervington added.

"The challenge was translating a broad international standard into something meaningful for our specific context," Taylor said. "We had to demonstrate how we exercise control over a third-party AI systems through proper configuration, verification procedures, and operational governance."
